What does cage free mean?

Cage Free means that hens are allowed to roam freely in their home. Cage Free hens all have the ability to express natural behaviors such as nesting, dust bathing, foraging, and perching in the barn.

Why don’t my hard-cooked eggs peel easily?

Which egg carton is more sustainable, paper (pulp) or plastic egg cartons?

Both pulp and plastic egg cartons are sourced from recycled materials! Pulp cartons are sourced from recycled paper, and plastic cartons are sourced from plastic recycling.

Why do some eggs have double yolks?

Sometimes, it just happens! And other times, it may be related to age of the hen. A hen may ovulate two follicles (yolks) when she is young and just coming into production, or when she is older.

What is in your fertilizer?

Our fertilizer consists of pure chicken manure! The manure is heat treated to kill any pathogens living in it, and then is pelletized to make it easy to use for your garden.
